CMA Country Christmas

CMA COUNTRY CHRISTMAS – Reba McEntire hosts CMA Country Christmas, Monday, Nov. 27 at 8/7c on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Bob D’Amico)

Are ya’ll ready for Christmas? I was catapulted into the Holiday Spirit a couple of weeks ago in Nashville at the filming of CMA Christmas. With some of the top voices in Nashville crooning the lyrics to some of the most well loved holiday tunes, it was hard not to find myself dreaming of snowflakes, stockings, and festive drinks back home around the Christmas tree. Reba McEntire is stepping in to Jennifer Nettle’s high heels to host the best Christmas celebration in the south- and what’s better is everyone can attend by tuning in to ABC on November 27 at 8/7 central.

I felt like a little girl again, watching artists Alan Jackson, Reba, and Trisha Yearwood perform so many beloved songs. I remember the days of sitting at my grandmother’s feet watching these iconic performers in our family room, staring mesmerized as we both marveled at their impeccable talents beaming through our television set during concerts and live TV performances- Garth Brooks Sevens was a favorite in our house. To be in the room where it happened with so many country music legends twenty years later was a special treat- it’s hard to deny the Christmas spirit (even in November!) when you’ve got the best of the best encouraging you to give in to joy, family, and the sweetest thoughts of home and God.

Some of country music’s best veterans were joined on stage by recent break out performers such as Kelsea Ballerini, Dan + Shay, Luke Bryan, Brett Eldredge, and the sweet new duo CB30. Each artist and group put their own spin on some of the most well known Christmas classics: Mary Did You Know, White Christmas, Jingle Bells, There’s A New Kid in Town, Silver Bells, and so many more.

CMA Christmas is truly one of the highlights of the season, bringing the brightest performers together to celebrate the season with delightful (and good. SO GOOD) music, friendship, and laughter. Enjoy the sneak peak below, and be sure to tune in to CMA Christmas November 27 at 8/7 central!
